Wednesday rides
Every week we head out from Frenchay Campus for an evening ride, usually around Snuff Mills, Leigh Woods or other local spots. Relaxed, beginner-friendly and a great way to meet people.
Lights out in winter — we ride into the night.

ROUTE STARTS HERE ALL DISCIPLINES WELCOME
You don’t need to be fast.
You don’t need to be experienced.
You don’t need the latest bike.
Whatever your experience level, there’s always someone to ride with.
Bringing a bike to campus? The two-minute guide to sheds, locks, registration and insurance.
UWE has secure bike storage across campus — sign up for shed access and get your bike tag.
High-value bike? Safest place is inside your bedroom — move it to a friend’s flat during room inspections.
Get a Sold Secure Gold or Diamond rated D-lock. Thin cable locks can be cut in seconds.
Watch your student emails — local police mark your frame and register it to the national database for free.
Register your frame number free at BikeRegister.com so it can be traced back to you if recovered.
Accommodation insurance doesn’t cover bikes — double-check your policy and look into bike insurance.
Whether you’re into cross country, gravity riding, BMX, dirt jumps, gravel, commuting, e-bikes or simply looking for an excuse to get outside, there’s a place for you here.
Some members race. Some ride every day. Some turn up not knowing anyone and quickly become part of the club.
If it has two wheels, you’ll fit in.

Most Saturdays you’ll find club members somewhere in South Wales. Lift shares are organised through the club, so you can get involved even without your own transport. Road routes vary week to week and are tailored to who turns up.
Socials, pub quizzes, BMX and skatepark sessions, camping trips, collaborations with other societies and plenty of adventures organised through the WhatsApp group.
Pick a Saturday
Steep push-up, big descent — the Twrch is a proper Welsh red, rocky and relentless.
Unsigned natural tech in the next valley over. Knowing the lines helps — luckily, we do.
Old colliery turned bike park. Short, jumpy laps — the spot for getting comfortable in the air.
The pilgrimage. Too far for a day trip, so it becomes a camping weekend.
Uplift van to the top, forty-plus trails down. Planned as club trips with shared driving.
The friendliest away day — fast, bermy and forgiving. Most people’s first trail centre.
Dirt jumps, dual slalom and a downhill track that will find the limit of your brakes.
Some of the best memories come from the trips away — camping, hammock setups, van park dinners, late-night chats and everything that happens between the rides.
Introduction rides and meeting new members.
Forest of Dean, South Wales trips and the first big socials of the year.
Weekly rides, weekends away, camping trips, socials and plenty of riding across Bristol and South Wales.
For many members the year finishes with our annual Morzine trip — a week of riding, good weather and good company.

The easiest way to get involved is to join the WhatsApp group. Come along for a ride and see what it’s all about.
Membership is £30 for the year and is bought through the Students’ Union.
